An anthology of short stories and inspirational poetry
Busy with all the changes in my life, starting a new job, transferring my classes to distance education and learning to schedule time for both was not going to be easy, but it could be managed with planning and care. I went to check the mail and received a large brown envelope from the college. What could it be, maybe more forms to sign? I had thought I had sent back everything, but what was inside brought tears to my eyes.
It was about the essay contest “Why Valley College” I had entered. Surprised! Indeed, I sat on my porch steps not wanting to wait another moment to read the letter inside. It read I was the first place winner and enclosed was a beautiful award certificate, a check for one-hundred dollars and a congratulation letter to my accomplishments
