Based on actual events, a multi-million dollar Medicaid fraud leads to murder in the Bronx.
A defrocked physician, Anthony Lucchesi, decides to continue defrauding the Medicaid system by using clinical laboratories to bill for bogus tests. One of the things he needs to carry out the scam is a supply of human blood. He satisfies this need by buying blood from the homeless and drug addicts. When one of his blood donors winds up dead, an investigation begins that threatens Lucchesi's very freedom.He launches an all-out effort to stymie the investigation. When that fails, those associates who can implicate him must be eliminated.

Having read several of Mr. Griffin’s previous novels, I was eager to read this stunning expose of the world of Medicaid fraud. Ho-hum, right? Wrong! The investigation is as intriguing as it is exciting. Once again, the author shows his absolute expert knowledge in weaving a story that is a real page turner. This is not a “who done it”… it is a “how are they going to catch them?” As the story moves into the final phase, the violence and thrills build to a crescendo of utter suspense and the surprise ending will have you shaking your head in amazement. This is another fine example of Mr. Griffin’s bid to be one of the best mystery writers of our time.

Keeping up with local happenings, I remember reading about this. This seemed so impacted with truth and actual information, and it ran from papagraph to paragraph as if it was being told to me face to face. You did not want to put the book down as if someone might forget to tell you something.

One thing that makes Dennis Griffin's books so interesting is that they are based on fact. He does not drag on the story but leaps from page to page. I was totally engrossed in this book and can't wait for a sequel.
