Jimmy Raid, undercover private eye for the Jimi Miami Secret Detective Agency, is hired by the alluring Sheriff of Bates County, Sandy Rivet, to track down a serial killer who is stoking up beautiful babes with coke and then gutting them, leaving their carcasses along the picturesque roadside like so many pieces of garbage.
The mystery starts off in the small resort town of Tennten, New York, and then careens its way through the Finger Lakes like fireworks and stock cars. Penetrating everyday America and prying into the depraved evil of the rich, Jimmy and Sandy hammer their way out of hell on earth and into Paradise.
This nightmare Finger Lakes fairy tale romance is more than just sex and violence. The Asexuals is a ripping fantasy that transcends the reality of human experience, conjures up a delightfully decadent daydream and gives birth to truly original creatures. Just as unstoppable as the forces of nature that created the Finger Lakes region, this roller coaster read never lets up until the stunning finale.
Excerpt
If there is still a paradise on earth, it could be the Finger Lakes - six lakes nestled in the valleys carved out by glaciers back when God first made the universe. Over every hill there's a shimmering crystal clean lake and another breath-stopping view where each season brings its own beauty blanketing every swell and valley.
It had been a killer cold winter, but now the soil's crust no longer crunched underfoot, as a summer-like sun warmed the breeze. Even this early in the year, the Outlet Trail smelled like spring; the unusually long grass wafted in rows like green hair, and the skunk cabbage seemed spooky because it was so huge. It was astounding how lush everything on the Outlet Trail was while the rest of the area seemed mired in that dormant period that balances between winter and spring. On this trail, between Keuka Lake and Seneca Lake, nature seemed to have awakened earlier. Skyscraper high willow trees bowed over the whispering Outlet creek, and the shallow brook reflected the mossy giants, doubling their joy at being alive. Their new leaves were like green tears, dripping down the long thin branches. On the northern side of the willows, the cinder slash of the Outlet Trail hugged the stream and was lined with old gold leaves which were tucked under maple, oak and elm trees with the willows to the right. All this hardwood was just stirring from a winter snooze; baby green buds sprouted on their skeletal branches, answering spring's wakeup call, and the warm urge to live again was straining to the surface of everything that had been hibernating in the cold. Then a chill painted goosebumps down my spine, as the air carried nature's voices to my heart.
