Hollow Eyes is a novel about a teenage girl, Shannon, who learns she has an ability to see a persons future events and to know their secrets they hold inside with one touch. Her sixteenth birthday is just a week away when her life takes a turn in a direction she could've never foreseen. Her mother has a tragic accident, her father is holding back from telling her something she knows she needs to know and there is a lady that everyone in town mocks for her outburst, yet there is a connection to her that she cant quite figure out. As Shannon pieces the puzzle of clues together and masters her new found ability she uncovers the family she thought she knew and the secret her father needed to tell.
Hollow Eyes is about a young teenage girl, Shannon that has a life changing event happen to her a week before her 16th birthday. Within all the excitement of turning 16 and getting to drive she starts to have, what she calls, day dreams. She seems to be able to look into a persons eyes and see what their future holds and what they’ve done in the past. As she tries to figure out what is happening to her she inadvertently finds out she is adopted. Her mother ends up hospitalized after a train crash that she kept getting flashes about, yet the problem is she doesn’t know the flashes are from the future and she hasn’t honed in on her skills enough to decipher them. As she uncovers her family secrets and finds her true relatives she discovers her real mother crossed over while giving birth to her and the only relative left is the towns crazy-lady that lives on the outskirts of town. The only true person that can help her, the one in her day dreams, the one she feels watching her. Shannon has to learn to listen to her instincts and untangle the families web of lies to save her adoptive mother, to talk to her while she sleeps and to lead her towards the light that leads to waking her from the coma that has her trapped.

Chapter 89
Allen got up from his chair walked over to the window and stared at the passing clouds. He thought about Shannon and her actions lately. It wasn’t that she was misbehaving, it was that she seemed to be consumed by guilt or something.
Maybe he should talk to her. He knew he wasn’t a perfect dad, but he did talk to his kids or at least he tried. Ryan seemed to be distant too. Tonight he would just have to call a family meeting at the dinner table. He glanced down at his watch to check the time, six twenty p.m.
“God, time seemed to fly by these days. I need to call Shannon.” Allen thought then reached for the phone beside the bed. He dialed her cell number. After the second ring Shannon picked up.
“Hello.” Said Shannon.
“Hey honey, it dad. Where are you?” Asked Allen.
“I’m at the mall.” Shannon lied.
“Again?” Asked Allen.
“Yeah, why?” Asked Shannon.
“No reason. When do you think you will get home?” Asked Allen.
“Uh, around seven thirty. Is that ok?” Asked Shannon.
“Yeah, but don’t be late.” said Allen.
“I won’t be late I promise dad. What are we eating?” Asked Shannon.
“Uh, spaghetti.” Allen said off the top of his head.
“Ok.” Said Shannon.
“Alright then I will see you at home at seven thirty.” Said Allen.
“Bye.” Said Shannon and hung up the phone.
Allen looked down at Alyssa laying in the bed, she was so beautiful to him. He reached out and brushed her hair behind her ear as he smiled. He had combed her hair for her the way he knew she would like it if she had been awake to do it herself. Not because he thought she needed her hair fixed but because he knew she would want it that way. She never left the house without her hair and make-up done. It didn’t matter to him if she wore her hair fixed or just up in a ponytail. As for her make-up he thought she was beautiful without it.
Allen picked up her hand and caressed it in his own. God he loved her! She was his sunshine, his air to breath, his life. He just couldn’t loose her, he just couldn’t. Allen thought to himself.
Ryan tucked himself under his dads arm and wrapped his arms around his waist.
“Dad, it’s going to be ok, mom is going to wake up. I just know it. She wouldn’t leave us like this.” Said Ryan. Allen just patted him on the shoulder and smiled at him. Allen then leaned down and kissed his wife on the cheek. He whispered, “ I love you” in her ear.
