First off I must say that although submitted as a "lesbian romance" I, (a gay male), totally enjoyed this book. Kelly writes with personal style and inviting ambiance. I felt totally welcome in Melissa (Mel) Hadley's world. Zarembski has a strong ability to make her characters real and believable. Mel is no exception nor the lost Sarah or Mel's family of friends. I read this book while my lover of twenty-four years was literally going through heart surgery. So I was a little nervous to say the least. Considering that I knew a portion of the subject in "Visions Of Sarah" was the loss of a lover just made me more anxious. However, Kelly's style and characters quickly enwrapped and welcomed me. I found some relief in Mel's rationalizing over the loss of Sarah. And indeed amusement at her friend's attempts to cheer.
Make no mistake this is not a book of morn, but rather Mel's road back from that dark place of loss. Peppered with memories and loving helpful friends the story is an easy and touching read. From the tender and trembling first kiss to the more relaxed Mel later in the book. This character becomes a friend. Yes this is a lesbian romance however Zarembski transcends gender with her universal understanding of relationships, and makes this topical for all. A must read!

VISIONS OF SARAH IS A VERY WELL WRITTEN BOOK. I ENJOYED IT TOTALLY. THE CHARACTERS ARE SO REAL. YOU FEEL AS THOUGH YOU ARE LIVING THEIR PAIN, THEIR JOY, THEIR SORROW. THE EMOTIONS THE AUTHUR CAPTURED IS SO BONE CHILLING. THE BOOK MADE ME LAUGH, CRY AND ANXIOUS TO GET TO THE NEXT CHAPTER TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT.

After recently stumbling across this book on Barnesandnoble.com I felt I really needed to review it. It was so honest and emotional I felt as though the author was talking about me. The characters were real and I honestly felt as though I knew them. I love the deep friendships and passionate love between all the characters. It truely is an enjoyable read.
