A must read for anyone who is hanging on to a relationship and they are not getting back what they are putting into it.

I read this whole book and it was painful; very boring and frankly a waste of time and money. A text book would have been more interesting. What's worse is that the author never admits her 2 biggest mistakes or the 2 most important lessons she should have learned and taught us readers.
One, you don't go out with someone who is fresh out of marriage. She blamed it on the internet and thinks it had something to do with the fact that he was 'married' (separated). You could meet someone like she did in a club or through a friend, and just because you date someone who is married and separated, won't mean you will have the type of problems Mrs. Epstein encountered. If a separated person has been out of a bad marriage for over a year, chances are they would know themselves much better and wouldn't have the issues and needs this guy Lance had who was just coming out of a broken marriage. That separated person, although technically married, may actually be a better candidate for a relationship if they have truly learned from their mistakes, know themselves well, and have a healthy self image. People need to learn what to avoid so they don't get into these toxic relationships! Mrs. Epstein never really tells us that.
And two, if things aren't right in the relationship then open your mouth and speak up, or get out! By holding so much in and not sharing her thoughts and feelings, she ends up misleading her partner Lance and therefore ends up getting mislead herself. People need to learn how to remove themselves from such a relationship should they get into one; only Mrs. Epstein never did that in her book either. She got dumped and then never taught us how we should gracefully get out! If Mrs. Epstein was really trying to help people and had any real common sense, she should have made these 2 points and supported them with a few illustrations from her journal. That would have been interesting.
Those were the lessons she should have learned that other people could have really benefited from. Instead, she wasted my time and anyone else's time who read that book sharing her long boring journal and spewing hatred for a man who in my opinion, just seemed more needy and confused rather than deceitful or phony. I believe Mrs. Epstein, is a scorned woman who simply wrote that book because she needed an outlet to vent so she could ultimately get herself validated.
