Real Life Freedom covers all bases that places life at its moments to discover the inner heart of the mentally challenged from one who use to be the nurse, now the patient.
I hope my book will give people more understanding of mental illness to the public and health care workers who take care of the mentally ill, and can actually see writings from one who had taken care of the mentally ill that is now being treated for for mental illness, because it took a lot of courage to admit this. I believe this book would be great tool in the mental health field. Most of my poems are linked directly to my mental illness, others are make believe worlds of my fantasy worlds that I use to cope with in my mental illness.- Beverly Fincham

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
This is what it feels like to have PTSD.
Any of your five senses can set off anxiety and panic attacks during the day.
The worse part of all is when PTSD invades your dreams.
My husband woke me up early this a.m. I remembered this dream.
My husband and I were driving up a steep cliff.
I was telling him to slow down. A deer jumped in front of us.
He woke me up before I screamed.
I pray, “God, help the homeless and mentally ill, that someday they will be seen as people.
How much more can they endure, harassed twenty-four hours a day?”
Being mentally ill is a hard way to live.
Better understand about the different types of mental illnesses
for communities before someone with a mental illness comes to stay.
Some days all I want to do is cry,
always hurting inside, having such frightening nightmares.
Waking up in a fright, afraid of detaching myself far away.
