One of my fondest memories of my grandmother was spending one summer vacation in Florida with her. My grandma and I had to share a bed, and frankly, I was quite nervous about the prospect. But we ended up talking late into the night about our lives, and I got to hear some fascinating tales about my grandfather and grandmother when they first got married and began had their first of 6 children (and 3 miscarriages). I will always cherish those weeks, since I learned a valuable lesson … that grandmothers are people too – women with passion, love, and incredible strength and the ability to love.
All children should be blessed with Grandmas like the ones in these stories. This collection is one way we can share that gift. I'd like to say a special "Thank you" to all the wonderful authors who have contributed to making this anthology a reality. Without their selfless dedication and willingness to share their tales this could never have happened. And another special "Thank you" to Leta Nolan Childers, the best-selling electronically published author of 1999 and a wonderful artist, for creating the beautiful quilt cover for this book.
