Imogene settled in at Peace Enterprises, yet continued to ride a roller-coaster, both personally and professionally. She put up with Steve’s mostly uncommunicative behavior because she dreaded being single again. In the office, saddled with mundane tasks at first, she nevertheless managed to soak in enough of the vibrant atmosphere to spark her own creativity. Minimized by the two co-workers who should have been helping her, she compensated by maintaining her friendship with Sara and cherishing occasional compliments from Leroy.
All in all, she held her own in the big city … until an upheaval in the Guthries’ lives, a long-awaited breakthrough, changed everything.
