Bill stripes the paint off and uncovers a beautifully made box. One side overlayed with the words, He Brings Ore. The mystery of the box and Bill’s encounter with an older lady by the name of Vivian, who keeps popping up at his house uninvited, unnerve him. But Vivian will start Bill on a mission that no one could ever expect. The stripped box and Bill’s farmhouse may hold a secret that will help set the town free. The mayor of Clearwater will be the biggest obstacle to the mission. His order that refuses the town to decorate their businesses and streets for Christmas comes with authority. What power does Jasper Wilson, the mayor, hold over the town that he grips with an iron fist? Will magic come to New England? What is the miracle that few in town talk about? No one but Aunt Mary, the oldest resident of Clearwater, knows anything about it? Bill must reach back two generations to find the answers, to find the light.
Bill makes many friends in Clearwater. But after Bill confronts Jasper Wilson to allow the town to decorate for Christmas, he will lose all of his new friends. All except Walt, who owns the farm next to his. Janie is another neighbor that takes care of Vivian. And Pastor Lou will join with Bill and the others to light the town and all the hearts that love the Christmas season. Love pops up in an unexpected place as Bill tries to make sense of the cryptic clues Vivian keeps giving him. She seems to know more than she lets on. Bill Will face the final challenge to solve the mystery of the magic miracle and Jasper Wilson’s hard heart. He will have seven days before Jasper Wilson evicts all the business owners from his buildings. Will the town survive? Will they celebrate Christmas? Will all the old traditions be resurrected? The characters kept you involved in what they were saying and doing and the characters were interesting. Their story line fit so well together.
I really enjoyed the way this one was written and can't wait for his next book.
If you have never read any of his books you really should especially his Christmas ones.
