This is everyone's favorite questions and one I love answering because card writing is one of THE most lucrative genres around. It's the perfect potboiler as well. Recently I broke my own record--from $25/word (Yes, PER WORD) to $33/word, which was immediately followed by $50/word. (For a two-word caption, I was paid $100). I've never gotten a rate anywhere close to that, even from major magazines.
