First and foremost, I would like to state that this book is not suitable for children. It definitely deserves an “Adult Only” rating. Although most of the work in this book is erotica, a few pieces walk the line between erotica and soft porn.
I am the first to admit that I am not really a person who enjoys a lot of poetry, but I can honestly tell you that the poetry included in this book is like reading a short story in poetic form, which makes it an interesting and surprising read. Each piece kept me in suspense from beginning to end, with none of them being predictable. The one thing I learned, through reading this book, is the talented way MacQueen can manipulate a story to keep it surprising, yet believable.
Inside this book, you will find approximately thirty-four poems and five short stories. Many of the poems are sensual in nature, although some are more poignant and serious, touching on subjects that occur on a daily basis, but are kept hidden under the covers. My very favorite piece in this book, although I enjoyed all the stories and poems, was “Courtyard Fantasies”. This story took my mind on a wild journey, which of course, we all know is what a fantasy is supposed to do.
McQueen’s style is easy to read with extremely well developed characters that fit the story like a glove. Over all, I would rate this book an exceptional reading experience, so from me it gets a 10, out of a rating of 1 to 10.
