Elissa stared at the decaying cottage and grudgingly admitted she needed a man. She prized her independence but now she needed a man to buy the place, fix it up, move in, fall for her, briefly - while she remained aloof - and, finally, help her die.

In the beginning, Mason Forsythe didn't know how much the buying of his dream home would change his life. How it would challenge his deepest beliefs in what was, or, rather, what wasn't. He knew already that love could become hatred. What he didn't know, yet, was that it could also lead to fear. Had he known all that, he might never have bought the place. But, of course, he hadn't.

Terry Sheils has created an eerily atmospheric world where ghosts are a natural part of
the landscape, and pop in and out as casually as old friends. Skillfully weaving together
elements of paranormal, mystery and romance, Sheils adds just enough humor to keep
the story from becoming mired in heavier elements dealing with murder and satanic
cults. . . . GHOST WRITER was an enjoyable read. A character-driven story, it has
sparkling secondary characters (particularly the owner of the hardware/feed store, the
Awl and the Pussycat) and a hero and heoine worth cheering for to the end.

Long ago, Elissa's father wanted her to marry Ephraim Carleigh, but Elissa was attracted to Jacob Stills.
Shortly after Elissa was killed in the cabin by an unknown murderer, Ephraim committed suicide, uttering a curse that binds Elissa and others to the earthly plain. Dealing with ghosts is more than Mason bargained for, but his growing love for Elissa won't let him quit.
Ghost Writer with its multitude of ghostly characters is engaging reading.

Mason Forsythe is a ghostwriter for everyone at the university but himself. He's dissatisfied with his
job and his life. Then fate took over and he was left a sizeable inheritance. Now he could buy that
cabin in the woods he'd always wanted to do, and write what he wanted to write.
But the appearance of a petite young lady one rainy night, changes all that, and now his life is full of
mystery and suspense and a bevy of ghosts that he doesn't happen to believe in. But despite his
disbelief, the mysterious Elise who appears and then vanishes at will needs his help and his love.
Terry Sheils has created a love story from the man's point of view and it works! The cross genre of
paranormal and mystery in this story was woven masterfully. This is a story that I couldn't put down
as I was drawn into the ghostly world of GHOSTWRITER. On a 1-5 scale I give it a 5.
