Adrian's mental illness is so out of control, he is not sure if he is responsible for the rapes and murders that have been happening in his fair city. The circumstantial evinence is stacking up against him. His disability attacks his heart and soul. The pressures on Adrian are tremendous.

Adrian got a shiver up his spine. He knew that once he went through those doors, he would be all alone. He signed the paperwork and collected his belongings.
Matt said, "The envelope the clerk gave you has everything you need to know. The schedules and everything is in there."
"I guess my dad will soon have his men looking for me," Adrian said.
Matt responded, "I'm sure of it. You can bet that as soon as we release the news, the ball will start rolling. Just take it easy. Take your time and do it right."
Adrian said, "I sure hope things turn out. I'm not used to this cloak and dagger stuff."
"Don't worry, you'll do fine. I know it. You are free to go. Good luck, Adrian.
Adrian turned around and gave a quick wave and left through the front doors. The first thing he had to do was get home and get rid pf the paperwork bbefore Azario's men picked him up. He grabbed a bus and transferred down to the strip. After a long bus ride, he arrived at his destination.
Excerpt
She smiled and went to the dressing room. Adrian sat back in his chair and ordered another mug of draft. He lit a cigarette and watched the women on stage. He closely watched the entrance to make sure that no cops came into the bar.
He felt safe in there; Trixie had everythimg in control. He couldn't brlieve that this episode was running into its second day in a row. He was still wired. He still hasn't come down from his high and the alcohol was not bringing him down.

Patrick Schnerch has created an unusual, action filled story with a rare blend of character-study and suspence. I like novels about serial killers, and once I started this one, I couldn't put it down. It is much more than a serial rapist and murderer on the loose. Adrian with his mental problems, is a fascinating, likeable character. The reader will experience the story vividly through the mind of this mentally distuebed individual as he works his way through all the clever twists and turns of the plot.
In June, 2000, two college students — Amy Shute and Jason Burgeson — were approached by a group of men. Forced into the backseat and driven to a remote location, they were murdered in cold blood.
