To be quite honest, I didn't think that I'd like Dancing Suns. I don't know why. Perhaps it was mere reluctance to start another book series. Because you know what, I really did like Dancing Suns. In fact, I liked the book quite a lot. What about not wanting to start a new series? Well, I can hardly wait until the next book. Serall is a young human woman, perhaps the last human in the Universe. She is psychically linked with a young Zaddack. Zaddacks are an alien species that fall somewhere between wolf and leopard. She was linked with the zaddack at an early age. Serall is to try to find any remaining humans and do her best to maintain a human legacy. Her journey teaches her many things as she tries to avoid a hostile alien race. It seems that she is tied into a prophecy which mentions a zaddack setting forth when the time of the two suns is to end. Karen Daniels' background that includes past work as an exotic animal trainer serves her well with this epic story. The information on the zaddack was full, exhaustive, and painted a living, breathing picture in my imagination. I actually daydreamed about my pet cat with speculations about our being linked. The author's spirituality training is also evident. I often found myself reflecting on what I'd read. I would sometimes reread passages that held particular meaning for me. Dancing Suns is a classic read.
