Consumers or consumed?
Humans are amazing creatures. We become extensions of what we eat. We think we are devouring it but it actually consumes us. For instance, since our arrival as babies, we have been consuming food. We were made to eat and if we stop eating, we wither away and die. We must take in food, oxygen, and water to sustain our physical bodies. God made us this way and we cannot change it. Likewise, if we absorb more than we need, we can expect some negative consequence to our bodies. Too much sugar causes diabetes to consume us. Too much salt causes high blood pressure to consume us. Smoking causes cancer to consume us. Breathing air is vital for life but too much or too little oxygen at particular air pressures will kill us. The right amount of water is good for us but too little dehydrates us and too much drowns us.
For some unknown reason, the process works the same way with our spirit, mind, body, and soul. Our life constantly absorbs in all dimensions and by design, what we take into our spirit, mind, body, and soul describes us. Jesus said, “Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God”. If we eat the word of God, it will begin to absorb us. As you will see, this is a good thing. Be serious about what you eat. Eat right and you will become right. Jesus spoke the following about the Word of God consuming us when he said the following:
John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
