The weather was cold and snowy one night, when Gus,
the man at the dog pound, heard a little sound coming from
outside the door.
He opened the door to see a small puppy shivering in the cold.
The puppy was tan in color with black tips on his ears and he
had a stub for a tail.
The poor little pup was scared, hungry and cold.
Gently Gus picked up the small dog and took him inside where
it was warmer.
Gus gave it food and water. Then he put the puppy into a big cage.
The little one felt so alone that he went to the back of the cage and
cried himself to sleep. When the pup woke the next morning,
the weather was still cold but the snow had stopped falling.
