Have strange items materialized in your refrigerator, while others simply disappeared? Does your new car have an excess of buttons with no discernible function? Does your loved one have quirks that drive you crazy? These are some of the topics covered. Also - a cat that refuses to catch mice, the search for a nonexistent party, a tax audit - all things I could laugh about later.

I've heard that some new car models have a screen in the dash where you can type in your destination, and a map unfolds as you drive, showing you the route. Not only that, but a voice comes on, telling you, for example, "right turn at the next intersection."
My first reaction to this was, how absolutely marvelous! Then I began thinking: the software should take this a little farther. The voice should be telling the driver other important things, like "You're driving too fast for this road!" or "Look out, there's a cop lurking behind the billboard coming up on your right" or "Watch out for that idiot weaving in and out of traffic" or, if you're on a mountainous road, "The scenery is beautiful, isn't it? But negotiating narrow switchbacks is tricky, so you'd better keep your eyes glued on the road.
On second thought, I have always considered cautionary statements (or pleas, as the case may be) to be my job, in my role of spouse and chief backseat driver. I have honed thisd skill over many years, punctuating the practice thereof at appropriate times with sudden gasps or shrieks of alarm. It would be a shame to let this skill go to waste.This is one job that definitely should not be outsourced.

I liked the author's short stories, written from her personal perspective in a humorous fashion. The stories made me laugh, made me smile, and I had to pass them on and share them with friends. I am always enlightened and entertained by a comedian's take on everyday events and occurrences, and the author of "Who, Me? Paranoid?" does just that. She brings humor to the simplest tasks, such as going out to eat, driving, traveling, and marriage. I felt validated as I read that she too experienced the same frustrations that I did, but I was able to laugh at her interpretation of it. A wonderful and relaxing read.
