Humorous children's picture book about the adventures of a sea-faring tabby cat.
It's winter and the sea around Northern Europe can get very rough. Sailor Sam is seasick and like all cats, he is not a good patient. The crew try all kind of tricks to make him take a tablet but Sam outwits them every time. The Captain misunderstands Sam's illness and when Sam overhears his plans, he takes drastic action to try to cure himself. Then, a chance meeting in Dublin provokes a new and mysterious sickness. What can it be and will Sailor Sam ever be cured?

Sailor Sam isn't your ordinary cat, nor is he your ordinary sailor. He is one of a kind. His wits, strengths, fears and weaknesses all come together to make this sailor cat an interesting character. Angela Cater has weaved a delightful tale that will entertain both kids and adults alike. She brings you on a unique journey that will have you laughing at the end. Sailor Sam is a one in a milion who whill warm the readers' hearts. Her spectaular illustrations make the story all that much more special. I give it five stars.
This book was written for children to stress the importance of being able to choose who gets to hug or touch them and being able to say NO if they don't want to be hugged or touched.
