We feel like we would be further along if we hadn’t gone through certain things. We blame people for being a hindrance and a burden. We blame their acts on their own evil hearts. Still, that is not always the case. I am a firm believer in God being sovereign. He knew all of what would happen in my life before one of my days ever came to be. He willed to work all of it for my growth, for my good, and for His glory. He is God of all things, all people, all places, all times and all actions. He is in control at all times of all things going on in the heavens and in the earth. Though the actions of people may hurt us, we must look beyond the natural to understand what God is really doing. The reason some of us are always going through such strenuous times is to draw us away from the cares of the world. It is only when we become consumed with living life that we make ourselves prone to pain. God, in His infinite mercy and love, permits the winds of adversity to blow through our lives so that we can grow and mature in Him. At times because of the greatness of God’s purpose in our lives, God has to lift His hand a bit higher from our lives so that some things may happen that otherwise would not. God may permit a rape, a bad marriage, an abusive husband, a cheating wife, an alcoholic parent, a drug addict sister, a disobedient child or sickness to plague your life for a season. Most of the things that come are done at the hands of a person. If we are stuck in a natural way of thinking, we will never forgive people to the fullest measure God requires. We must realize that God knows best for our lives. Our crosses are specifically designed for us. God is just and never gives us more than we are able to overcome with Him. He wants our flesh overwhelmed so that we will desire to come to Him, the Rock who is higher, stronger, wiser and more loving than we are. He is an abundant help. When we have God, we have more than enough to get through any trial and turn it around to a victory. Now, here I want to clarify one more thing. I don’t believe God wants anyone raped, molested or abused in any fashion. Nonetheless, we live in a sinful world where sinful things happen, but we serve a God who has already seen the end and has already worked our mistakes and misfortunes into His PERFECT will for our lives! (Hopefully, that keeps people from labeling me an apostate. LOL!)

A Story That Deserves Telling
Powerful is the only word I can use to describe this book. It was like reading my own diary. I know it couldn't have been easy, but Lacresha actually exposed her own flaws and issues that were a direct result of what she had been through with molestation and rape. I think the chapter that made the whole book for me was 'You Are So Beautiful' because she talked about how her relationship with her mother was strained. We have a lot in common and I join my voice to hers to say this is one story that deserves telling!

Taking On A Topic Too Few Will
This book is a needed resource for men and women who have been victimized by incest, rape, molestation and domestic violence. It's realistic and not preachy. I especially enjoyed the part about how she began to hate men because of her past, and how she had to change her thinking. This book is great!
