"It's been an experience, to say the least," Tony told the others about the women's
escapades since their arrival in New York.
"Let me see if I got this right," Tom Walters, Tallula's only attorney, began in his
pipsqueak voice, "Annie was robbed twice, is in love with one of New York's finest
and met Regis Philbin. T.J. is having trouble with that damn Yankee husband of
hers and had a baby with only her mama and aunts to comfort her. Fran is messing
around with some sort of female impersonator. And Diana is trying to hold it all
together. What about Lucie?"
After reading L.L. Lee's first novel, Taxing Tallula, I looked forward to reading her second one. Lee's sense of humor runs rampant, cleverly mingling with her observations about all the little quirks, faults, and abilities that make us individuals. Like Taxing Tallula, this novel uses an action-packed plot in the most playful ways; any danger remains completely light-hearted and fun. In fact, "fun" describes this novel better than any other word.
