Derick Lombasto is a factory worker who wants his newly written book published. When no one wants his manuscript, Derick meets with a literary agent, Craig Devon, who promises Derick that his book will be published for a fee. When Derick's estranged wife walks back into his life, Derick finds himself not only dealing with Devon's outrageous requests, but also trying to keep his personal life from crumbling.
