I will take you on a poetic journey hoping you will understand I am not just some poor wishful thinker wishing upon a fairy-tale star that life will suddenly become perfect.
Though I will tell you of the stars, I am not just some poet trapped within a fantasy of wishful thinking.
I was born in September of 1984, and I live in South Carolina. I am a young lady who enjoys my friends, family, and simple things in life very much. As a poet, I am a writer of simple rhyming words. I wonder about the ways of life, and I write about them. I have chosen to use my God given words to spread inspiration, peace, love, beauty, and freedom. I must tell you that I have stared into the cold, bitter eyes of reality and have seen life for precisely what it is. Do not think for a second that I skipped cheerfully away from such an event. No, I fell to the ground because of a low will power to continue on. There were certainly times when it was difficult to listen to the “life will get better” speech, and it was even more difficult to continuously recite it to myself. Sometimes it actually felt as if the more I believed that speech the worse my life became.
However, here I am…
And well, here you are.
So, in simple rhyming verses, I will take you on a journey of reality and at times we will take a detour down the road of imagination. Don’t worry though, we will arrive safely at our destination…..Inspiration.
Please take a step forward, and begin the journey.
