Sometimes we must recognize when the answer is no, and we can't have what we want. If we force it to happen, it could have a devastating affect on all around us for generations to come. You know what they say, be careful what you ask for...You just might get it.
Torrin is about to loose something very precious to him. He will do anything to keep it, the choice that he makes to keep what he wants affects everyone around him for generations. Once he realizes what he's done, he goes on a faithful journey to reverse the deal, but he's never seen again. Every generation tries to redeem the sins of the father, but they too find no hope in the path they took.
Fast forward three generations to find a troubled young man named Tremaine who has lost his way and is forced into a life style with Alec, a great, great grandson of Torrin who lives in denial of his great great grandfather's wish and refuses to accept it as reality but Tremaine discovers the results of Torrin's wish and the only way to make things right. Together they must find a gateway into the realm of death to find the crystal rose. What they don't know is that they can not look upon it's light carrying the baggage borne by life. You must purge your heart of hateful things. Guilt, jealously, hate and fear must die before you can see truth. The things that make you who you are, are what destroys you.

"What do we have to do?" asked Alec.
"You have to die," said John emphatically. John looked into Tremaine's eyes and waited for him to flinch, but he didn't. He stared back and waited for whatever John would say next.
"I don't understand. How will dying help us fine the rose?" asked Alec.
"Death is a transition from one existence to another. The rose that you seek is not in this existence; it is in the world beyond, in the highest place and the lowest place. It is not of this world. It does not dwell in any existence that the body can enter into," said John.
"Can't we just meditate like you guys used to, with the smoke and the pipe and dancing or something?" Tremaine asked.
"Meditation takes you into your subconscious, but you are still earthbound, still of this world. Nothing will materialize there. What you seek is beyond the subconscious."
