This is a great book for kids, parents, and young coaches to learn more about track & field. It covers all the events and the necessary skills to compete in them.

This book has drills and exercises to build up your strength, speed, coordination, agility, and track and field skills. Learn good health habits, and fitness while training and practicing. It is a guide to learning any event in track and field. It has a "track & field 101" section for new parents orientation. It is a guide to the availability of regular equipment as well as specialized training equipment. It has a guide for attitude development, good sportsmanship, and respect for others. It has a glossary (terminology) section, an explanation of track meet scoring, and general track size. At the end of every event section there is a performance table to guide your progress as you move along in your training.

Excerpt

"I have been thinking about doing a more complete track & field, with cross country, reference book for young boys and girls for some time now. The reason I am doing this type of book is to speak right to the reader. Also because I am very involved as a coach in teaching track & field. If you can learn the basic fundamentals at a young age, think of how good you could become by the time you reach high school."

Professional Reviews

Praise for Learn'n Track & Field
"I like your implementation of games/drills/aerobic runs in the mix of training to keep everything fun and interesting for young runners. Overall, this book provides general information for parents and children about learning the basics of track and field. The book provides informative information about training, racing and drills that are perfect for the beginning athlete who wants to take a leap into track and field."
