Ex-Nazi Walter Dornberger, who should have been tried and hanged for war crimes at Nuremberg, is evacuated to the US by the CIA after WWII. He is placed at Bell Helicopter in Dallas where he works closely with Micahel Paine, husband of Ruth Paine. The Paines and Dornberger work as covert operatives for the CIA, and one of their assignments is to set up Lee Harvey Oswald as the patsy in the JFK assassination. Dornberger turns up murdered in 1980, and the cop who investigates it turns up a rat's nest of CIA atrocities, including MK-ULTRA, OPeration Paperclip, Operation Mockingbird and ZR-RIFLE. Hayes and his prime suspect form an unlikely collaboartion and turn the tables on the CIA and its nefarious operatives.

Tim Fleming's book is, without a doubt, one of the absolute best historical novels I've ever read. Tim displays a grasp of incidents we all should question, and this book should be required reading for every student of American history.
