This charming story of Sonny the fish touches on environmentalism while focusing on one individual's struggle to recognize his own strengths. When a bike is dropped into Sonny's lake, he becomes obsessed with it. An older fish dismisses it as "more pollution," but Sonny wants to ride it. When he discovers he is not strong enough to push it, he begins a program of muscle building, which is not successful. Only when the bike is pulled out of the water by the lake custodian does Sonny begin to list his strengths (swimming backwards and sideways) and accept that he was not made to ride a bike.
