Erotica is not an easy thing to write. By this I mean it is sometimes difficult to frame erotica in an interesting story as it is relatively simple to write sex scenes. Writing convincing sex scenes is a different matter altogether but Ken Smith does it very well. "Spunky Sailor" is a very hot book with lots of sex and a good story.
Sandy is gay and 20 years old and he knows that ships usually have some very good looking crews. A ship filled with men is like a candy shop for him and shore leaves can be lots of fun. But there is also lots of fun below deck all of the time.
Action can happen anywhere and it does in "Spunky Sailor". Set in the United Kingdom, Sandy finds sex on board, in a night club, on shore, in town and outside. Sandy is a well drawn character; he is a guy who likes to have fun and he does. There is wit and humor and lots of sex and Ken Smith is quite a writer. I turned pages as quickly as possible and chuckled as I did. It's easy to understand why Ken Smith is such a popular writer.
