Ever wondered what happened to Atlantis? Perhaps the stories of mermaids are true. Some Atlantians were able to make it to Europe and the Americas but many were trapped underwater. They survived and built an underwater paradise.
Helena had just started getting her life back together when two men would come in and change it forever. One wanting to control her life, the other wanting to be part of it.
Mathew’s family had taken over and controlled the city for years. Mathew was taking it to the land. He wants more to see Ambrosia come out of the water and be part of the rest of the world. At first Helena was just for information now she was becoming something more.
Kevin had been in the Navy for years, he had seen a lot of things. Stumbling into what most in the land world thought was a myth. He would find that the Legend of Atlantis and mermaids was real.

There are so many theories about Atlantis, did it exist, what happened to it? Here is another theory, some survived in the ocean and built a city there. What if we have a trade agreement with them, they help keep the fish populations up in the oceans and the land dwellers give them items they can’t produce under the water, meats, flowers, furniture, and other items.
Helena had lived her entire life in Ambrosia, the only time she’d been on land was to go to her little island hideaway. It was where she could be alone and think and it gave her a reason to swim. Her life was going great, she had her loving family, she was going to be married and she had a great job. In a second it was all gone, her parents and fiancé were dead and it was about to get worse.
Matthew’s family had become very influential and some would say they controlled Ambrosia. Matthew wanted more and he wasn’t going to let anyone get in his way. He never liked the idea of Ambrosia being hidden from the land dwellers and wanted it exposed. He felt Helena knew more then she was letting on about the investigation against him. He wasn’t going to let anyone keep him from selling the US weapons he was able to get to other countries, how else was he going to finance his greater ambition. They all worked for the FAS, he hadn’t been able to find the secret files Mike had on him. He took control of Helena which wouldn’t just change her life but his as well.
Kevin was in the Navy and had been on patrol in the Bermuda Triangle many times. He never believed the stories of Mermaids, UFOs that went along with the Triangle. There had always been minor damage when patrolling the Triangle until they were asked to escort some scientist to study it. Kevin never trusted them and soon found out why. Kevin was about to find out that Mermaids were real and why the triangle got its reputation but it had nothing to do with UFOs.
Ambrosia shows you how you can mix your imagination and real life together and make it seam real. It will keep you guessing, surprise you and keep you wanting more.

The book “Ambrosia” consists of 18 short chapters with bold typed words, which were easy on the eyes to read. Although the story line is an interesting one, the world of Atlantic still living, I feel the author was unable to capture the true sense of her characters and the plot itself.
The text is written in a play-by-play style that describes the bare minimum details regarding the characters and the events that were taking place now or in the past. There was a lack of depth and substance with every turning page. In my opinion, there was no real emotions or any suspense where there should have been, which gave the reader little to get excited about. There was some, if barely any, character development to give the reader something to relate to and/or identify with.
Paragraphs were made up of fragmented sentence with repetitive word use, especially names. Spelling errors can be found through out, with the word “staid” instead of “stayed” used several times. I myself am a poor speller, but I found it unnerving that someone could not let the author know of these errors. I found the flow of the book sometimes hard to follow since there were various flash back to the past that happen without warning to the reader.
I have read a few self-publisher books in the past and found most needed very little if any correction and were a joy to read. This book, unfortunately, this is not one of them. I think this author needs a support team perhaps, to help her with her writing and be honest to her to a fault. I am hoping she is able to develop her writing more for her sequel to this book.
It is a great story concept and with more meat on the bones of the authors writing it could have been a great book as well. I am not able to recommend this book to too many readers, but maybe the young reader who would like quick reading book without too many details.
