A Private Investigator must stop the Elymais Coin from being used as part of a subversive plot against the United States - from its most vulnerable point - the presidency.
A wealthy coin collector hires Cy Lane to find and return the 3000-year-old Elymais coin but Cy finds he isn't the only one seeking its possession. He first encounters a shadowy Middle Easterner, then, a beautiful Russian woman who offers aid in obtaining the coin for a price. Appearance of a member of the Russian Maffia requires them to use a circuitous route to Europe where the shadowy Middle Easterner reappears and a murder complicates the search. The chase then follows a rabidly anti-Muslim bishop's acolyte to Andora and Morocco where al Qaida and the CIA become involved. Then, eventually, it moves to Mexico and finally back to the United States where Cy discovers that even the United States Attorney General wants the coin.

Manhold was written well, had good character development and was a fast-paced adventure…descriptions of the foreign towns and surrounding areas were quite detailed, right down to the local fare at the restaurants. I enjoyed the read and gave it an A on my proverbial scale. I would recommend it to all that enjoy a James Bond thriller which is a little more like the real world.”
