Brilliant! Exceptionally Funny Too!
This author is daring, provocative, and overall...BRIALLIANT! Some might find McGaffer's sense of humor to be a little over-the-top, but how many of us accidently fall asleep in the tub while reading Dawkins? There is just no way to not laugh at some, most, or nearly all of this author's logic. Remove the stick from your a$$ before picking this book up or you will miss the simplicity of the message.

Genius
This book is filled with so much common sense that it is ridiculous. Not only is this book a fun and easy read but it speaks so simply as to make Christians just seem dumb. Being a former "born again Christian" I look back and wonder how I ever believed that hocus pocus. Thank you McGaffer for putting such truths into print.

He Really Made Me Laugh!
I bought this book based on the strength of the reviews here, and am SO glad I did!
The area of bible commentary has room for everything. One can only read so many thoughtful tomes before one is sick of the subject. Mr. McGaffer takes the whole subject down to a new low....and I mean that in the nicest possible way!
I agree with his assertation that tolerance is over rated, and he voices exactly what most of us are thinking. The addition of tables, photos, stick-Jesus and large font exclamations really brought a lot of fun to his highly irreverant text.
Sure, many of his points are well established. But it's not in the "what" sometimes, but in the "how" something is presented. Sometimes you need a light shining from the opposite direction to help you catch anything you missed the first, second or even third time you inspect something.
McGaffer highlights old and new thoughts in a very entertaining manner.
After reading his bit about the Jehovah's Witless who was an 8, I asked my husband if HE ever thought like that when he was a born again. He said, yeah, he used to eye the christian babes and wonder if they took it up the $$$! I told him he needs to read this book, because it's one he would have written himself.
