Excerpt
Jonny slid in just as the lights were going down. She was glad for the dark so he couldn’t see the conflicting emotions as they flit across her face. He reached over and whispered something in her ear, and suddenly, she was acutely aware that she was sitting in the dark with him, in an acutely intimate atmosphere. She looked at the lit exit sign like it was a beacon calling to her. She actually had been standing near one all evening. Maybe her subconscious was speaking to her.
“I hate watching myself act, especially on the big screen.”
“So close your eyes.” She was ever practical.
“But then I’d be sleeping with you,” he said devilishly.
Yikes, was this going to go on for the next two hours?
“Jonny, behave yourself,” she chided.
“Being good is overrated, wouldn’t you say, Cassandra?”
His voice was velvety soft in her ear. She looked around to see if anyone was looking at them, but the noise on screen was so overwhelming; she could have shouted for help and no one would have heard.
“I’ll wear you down eventually.”
“Ha, never,” she scoffed.
“I do so love a challenge.”
“What’s gotten into you, Jonny?” She eyed the exit sign ruefully.
He was silent for a few seconds. “I’m sorry, Cass, sitting this close to you in the dark is frying my brain.” Add to that, he hadn’t had a woman in his bed for six months now, and it was no wonder he was bouncing off the walls. He wasn’t about to share that bit of information with her. He didn’t know what was wrong with him. No woman he had ever met had even been mildly enticing. Yet, one look at Cassie and his engine was revving. He knew he was in deep trouble. She looked like she was ready to run at any second, as it was.

A well written, enchanting novel that keeps you captivated and continually eager to find out what will happen next. The author adeptly brings the events and scenes to life and endears the characters to the reader in a way that makes you truly feel the story as it unfolds. I could't put it down once I started and then read it a second time as I became so engrossed that I wasn't ready for it to be over... And I've been daydreaming about it ever since!!
