"Obadiah Bush, Gene Alter and Branche Sawyer" is a humorous time-traveling satire, which is set in the author's hometown. "Dual Events" explores a clever reincarnation/revenge theme. "Loyalty to Duty" involves a surprise ending astrological- fulfillment literary plot. "A Day to Forget" probes the depths of psychological drama, "Death and Taxes" is an interesting horror-oriented drama, and "July 4th, 2076" is a futuristic sci-fi/adventure drama. "Dual Events" takes place in Hamilton, Bermuda, where the author and his wife have vacationed. Other settings are Colorado's Rocky Mountains for "July 4th, 2076", Atlantic City for "A Day to Forget", and the author's hometown Hammonton, New Jersey for "The Trespassers" and "Obadiah Bush, Gene Alter and Branche Sawyer." Peace and serenity: what really are they? I haven't known either quality since he had ruined my life! How could I have been so gullible?
My memory will reconstruct the exact scenario, I know it will, and then you will understand the great depth of my dilemma.
My greatest fear is awakening in a torrential thunderstorm on the coast of Holland. You think me insane? Many so-called "experts" also believe I am demented. My medical doctor thinks I am over-fatigued. My minister contends that I need spiritual renewal. My psychiatrist (I insist I don't require his services) claims I am both psychotic and neurotic. His associate mauntains that I am schizophrenic. All of those charlatans consider my testimony a fantastic hoax. I swear on my ancestors' graves that I am of sound mind and body. I have been placed in a sanitorium where I have compiled this chronicle. Thank God I still have the gift of communication. They say I am "crazy." Pieces of Eight, Part II is a unique collection of eight creative novellas. The variety of unique plots explore sci-fi, paranormal and humor themes. One of my favorite tales in the collection is "Dual Events". The fascinating story captures coincidence after coincidence. It's about a frequently traveled couple, Hamilton and Joanne Alexander who are traveling to Bermuda. Hamilton finds himself deeply disturbed by a fellow plane passenger, Nolan Phillips. Hamilton's second sense tells him something is amiss about Nolan's sinister character and intentions. Was Hamilton right? Always trust your sixth sense, I say. It isn't jealous, blind or ignorant in any way....It really knows. Is reincarnation real or imagined? Throughout the story, Hamilton is told by others he has a familiar face. Mr. Dubya uses Alexander Hamilton's portrait on the ten dollar bill as the character's physical look-alike. I soon found myself searching in my wallet for a ten dollar bill! Jay Dubya is an extremely talented author who is published in several different genres. Look for this talented author's work today by visiting his publisher's website. Highly Recommended.
