An accidental man-made disaster is created when a brakeless, runaway, overloaded logging truck carreens down a mountain highway smashing into Bobby's Girl the Diner. It is patron filled inside and out in the parking lot for the first classic car drive in of the season. The well written piece of fiction has powerful drama, hero's and heroines, cowards, decievers and scoundrals, and humor all combined to make this a fast paced enjoyable read while on the back porch,in a comfortable bed or recliner or a blanket on the beach.

Eric L Marsh wrote, Bobby's Girl, the Diner, on a full set of napkins from the dispenser on his table while sitting in the actual  Diner of that name in Central New Hampshire in New hampton, on route 104 just west of the Merifith  line. He didn't take more than one bite form his meal before the story screamed out in his head to be written. The French fries congealed, his vanilla frappe melted and the cheeseburger he looked forward to all day long simply wilted and grew stone cold, so engrossed was he in getting the story down on paper/napkins. The waitress smiled and asked if he wanted the napkins placed on his bill.  Smiling back at her, he said to add them because the book he wrote on them would buy a truck load of napkins someday.(she didn't). A couple of years later after many revisions and editing a publisher was found and the book became a reality. Eric kicked off his marketing at the Bobby's Girl diner, sadly the young waitress had gone off to college and missed having a free signed copy placed in her hands. Eric is a talented writer of short stories, his style has been praised by fans and peers as very similar to O.Henry's. Bobby's girl is Eric's second published book, the other; titled, Mother Superior's secret, he boasts, had been banned by a regional chain of bookstores, as being to controversial. Which it is not. That chain has gone out of business.  Eric is a long time writer of poetry, as well as being a stand up comedian and thespain. He retired as an Army Master sergeant (having served in both hot and cold wars); and civilain general construction Contractor. Eric resides in the wild woods of New Hampshire on five forested acres into his self built writers retreat. He can be found at the keyboard day and night with his canine companions resting at his feet as he sits tapping out streams of words for his and your pleasure.

Excerpt

Merde! Oh my God! Pierre mouthed loudly tightly gripping the steering wheel of his old big rig tractor hauling an overloaded trailer of fresh cut logs.It was to late to stop the now brakeless rig he had tapped the brakes as the tractor crested the mountaintop highway. Momentum took it right over onto the downside. His hands and feet flew into action guided by his over a quarter of a century of driving skill. The lanyard of the air horn in one hand long blasts of the Ohga-ga horn to warn others; shifting into low rangs and gears became futile, the rig had a mind of its own. Smoke and flames trailed the wheels on tractor and trailer as he glanced into the side mirrors. Bobby's girl the diner parking lot was all that would save him, he thought. Not knowing it had opened a month earlier than usual A quick flipping and the diner was destroyed and crashed to the ground with patrons trapped inside. Fuel spilled from the overturned tractor onto the floor. Pierre was trapped in the trucks cab unconscious as patrons cried out for help.
