Amorphous Angelic, selected poems by Jacqueline Howett are metaphysical poems of wisdom, death, rebirth, and the inner workings of the souls journey. They are also 35 selected poems of love, inspiration, wonder, visons, hope, faith and connecting to the higher self as well as with the sad & strange, to elevating out of darkness to reveal the mystery of life that cover an important time factor in the poets life between 1980-1985, and have remained her most memorable,as they become the last link with old England before her moving to America.
Written in a timeless language that everyone can relate with at the core of their souls. They also reveal a hint of old England in the poets evolving.
"Amorphous Angelic" was written from 1983-1985 in London, England during Jacqueline Howett's own rebirth while in a celibate/hermit repose. It was a time Howett seriously began to dedicate herself to her lifes works in a mature form writing plays, poetry, novels and reading the classics. (A sort of time out from rock N roll,) after reconnecting to her creative spirit through a death/rebirth experience after having lived the life of Cass, a book she hopes to have published in the Autumn of 2011, that became the essence of these poems. The language in these poems appear to have come from another time and hold an air about them from her old country England. She was influened by Wordsworth, Coleridge and the Persian and Middle Eastern Poets. Among other books of poetry she has written are Sands of time & My Greekside, a book of Greek poetry and lyrics in English translation which she began to compile after her mothers death in 1996. She hopes to publishe them at some point. My Greekside began a new process in her own metamorphosis that marked the final transition to terra firma with letting go of her old emotional ties to Europe to finaly start living in more awareness the American life after completing her first two novels, The Greek Seaman and Cass.
Jacqueline Howett dedicated these poems at the time of their printing in Maine, to her English father the artist Leslie William Howett, who came to visit her in America whom she had not seen for more than 20 years. Since then he has visited her twice in Florida where she now lives.
Jacqueline continues to write poems and as she has evolved, these poems seem a far cry from what she writes now. Her more up to date poetry have appeared in Long Story Short magazine in October, November and December 2010 and also in February 2011 and can be found on various sites online. She has published a poem in The Taj Mahal Review Poetry Anthology and a Micro fiction piece, titled: The Next Take, in The Alien Skin Magazine.

INTO MY FLESH THE FACE OF REALITY
Into my flesh, the face of reality,
Through history, the tale of faith is told,
Haunted by a new word, 'Integrity,'
To follow suit, dares me to be so bold.
Bright light, whatever fate maybe,
I do not think God leaves the blessed out in the cold,
Through death and time, love radiates holy,
Much greater is life upon that fresh hold.

TO WHOM THIS RHYTHM OF OUR HEARTS SPEAK?
To whom this rhythm of our hearts speak?
To whom the river of our hearts to seek?
Amidst the empty shell now peaceful sleep,
No longer flow the tears on earth to weep,
A new beginning, a new peak to reach,
The struggles upon upward climbs who greets?
And this revealing light beneath my feet,
Each step knows we have crossed a timeless fleet.
