Angela’s Story

Disturbances
Angela told me that they first noticed a strange smell when their house was being renovated; she said it was a very strong fishy odour that followed her from room to room.
Her father is a scientist and he tried every test possible, but couldn’t fathom out where the smell was coming from. The room temperature rose whenever the smell returned.
One night, as she was drifting off to sleep, the bedroom door was flung wide open and she felt someone ruffling her hair. Naturally, she was terrified. She jumped out of bed and ran onto the landing where she met her father, who was walking towards her bedroom. He told her that exactly the same thing had happened to him. The smell surrounded them on the landing as they were talking. Not long afterwards, whilst she was lying in bed, she thought she heard her father calling her. Leaving her bed to go to him, she met him making his way to her room as he thought he had heard her calling him. Once again, the smell was present.
Angela’s mother also had a strange experience. She worked as a district nurse and occasionally had to rise early in the morning. Before retiring one night, she set her alarm clock for 4.30 a.m. Later, she woke with a start as she felt someone literally tugging her hair. Glancing around, there was no one to be seen. On looking at the clock, which hadn’t rung to waken her, she saw it was 4.35 a.m. Her husband was working away from home at the time and on looking in Angela’s room, she saw she was fast asleep.
