THE IKON is an exciting, action-packed thriller, which takes place on the jet-set island of Myconos, surrounding the seedy world of art and antiquities dealers and smugglers.
Riding on the huge success of ‘The DaVinci Code’ and action scenes of the hit movie, 'Romancing the Stone' with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, “'THE IKON” is a modern day “Maltese Falcon” style adventure-thriller, which evolves around a group of international antiquities thieves living on Mykonos, Greece.
In this fascinating story, the lead and main character, Garth Hanson, a down on his luck artist, is blackmailed into making a copy of a world famous icon in Greece, and becomes inadvertently involved in a dizzying sphere of international intrigue, passionate love and brutal murder. The colourful cast of characters all come to life on the exotic jet-set island of Mykonos for the suspense-filled ending, where all characters converge for one purpose alone --- To steal a gem-studded icon worth millions of dollars… The twist is, that there's something more to the icon than jewels and diamonds- something of international importance and consequence, that could very well change the course of the world as we knew it!
This is a classic tale with all the intrigue abut to be a major block-buster film.

Excerpt
"The sleek black Mercedes came to a screeching halt at the edge of a cliff. A gruff, faceless voice cried, Get out! Garth felt the cold steel muzzle of a revolver pressed against his temple and did exactly what he instructed. In the darkness below, he heard the sound of waves gnashing against the rocks and sensed his impending doom. Then without warning a harsh blow struck the back of his head and his brain exploded like thousands of kaleidoscopes breaking into sharp fragments of colored glass. In his confusion, the horrific image of an evil spirit appeared pointing an accusing finger then the beatific vision of a saint shining in all his glory. But as the vision drew nearer he finally saw it...It was the icon...it was that goddamned icon!"

THE IKON the first 'Da Vinci Code'?
Well, I must say THE IKON Greek island thriller was certainly a pleasant surprise and great read, and it's no wonder all that THE IKON copies seem to be sold out, as I noticed it was obviously the first "DaVinci Code" style thriller told with basically the same premise and religious iconoclast ending.
However, this story, which takes place in exotic Mykonos, Greece and Athens has more going for it, as it is far better better storytelling and a lot more fun, with all the makings of a major Hollywood blockbuster movie.
I highly recommed THE IKON to all those readers in search of a good, gritty, down to earth fast paced thriller.
