I had no idea who to trust. Was Niall Malone a bad guy posing as a good guy knight in a gleaming, growly muscle car? Or was he really the good guy I could--and should--trust with all my deepest secrets?
I surreptitiously looked in the side view mirror, but didn’t see any suspicious vehicles.
“Want to talk about it?” Niall asked.
“About why even though I’m not a criminal I feel like one? How if you think I’m guilty I must be because if I weren’t, you would leave me alone? I’m spooked, Malone.” Wrapping my arms around my waist did nothing to hold back tremors. “I’m not even sure installing a security system is a good idea. Seriously, what better way to invite the government into my home? How do I know they’re not installing cameras and mics that will track and report my every move?”
Niall pulled into a space on the side of a residential street. “Cassidy, I swear, I’m on your side. I believe in your innocence and I’m doing my best to protect you, but I’m not sure from
