Reno and the guys met with Ricardo and his crew at the race way. At the end of the race, briefcases were exchanged as decoy for the deal. No one suspected anything. Good.
It seemed as though Reno and Ricardo had a lot in common. They got along really well. So well, that Ricardo introduced a new aspect of business to Reno.
“My friend,” Ricardo started, “yes, there is good money in distribution. There is definitely good money in narcotics, dependent on which narcotics, fares how well it is worth the risks. Tell me, is it just mota and cocaina you deal?”
“For the most, yes,” Reno answered.
“Have you thought much about expanding your empire?” Ricardo asked.
“What do you mean?” Reno asked. “Nationally?”
“No,” Ricardo began, “I mean commodity. Would you like to acquire additional trades and services for your current clientele, and new?”
Reno looked puzzled for a moment. He had never been introduced to anything other than regular street shit. He was always up for making a lot of money at little risks. Or at least let the money be worth the risks.
Reno answered, “I’m always up for new money and clientele. So what are we talking?”
Ricardo responded, “I deal with mota for prospective links and upgrading my current patrons. What I am about to offer you is something I haven’t offered to the comrades under me. I see you know this game well. I see you have a great deal of respect among your crew and even passer-byers. I have an industry of Russian and American scientists that produce major prescription pills for me. I have a warehouse right here in Georgia, and another in the Midwest. I invite you to take part.”
“Gotdamn man!” Reno exclaimed. “Boy, put your folks on! Hell yeah I want in. So what you need me to do?”
Chuckling in response to Reno’s outburst of excitement, Ricardo answered, “I will be in contact with you for our trip there. In the meantime, prepare your crew for instruction from your understudy. We are going to be tied up for the next few weeks setting you up with what you need. No sweat.”
“That’s what’s up,” Reno said. “I’ll hear from you soon.”
They shook hands and parted ways. New business. New money.
