These fables offer a unique approach to healing based on the archetypal model of the hero. They can be used by therapists as well as individuals of all ages, educational backgrounds, cultures, races, women and men from teen to elderly. The tales offer something beyond more basic paths to self awareness and are appropriate for both newcomers and experienced users of myth-based divination concepts.

Feral Fables adds mightily and beautifully to time-tested Wisdom truths
Dr. Lucy Jones offers us wisdom and music for our souls in her Feral Fables. She writes," . . . feral implies more than wild. It is a juxtaposition of civilization and an untamed world. It speaks of a departure from the restrictions of domesticity into a world of freedom. In this place, imagination rules . . ." She invites us to imagine. She tempts us to know and appreciate all of ourselves.
Dr. Jones tells us that each of us is "la torrera, the one who fights the hot fight. Inquisitive in an untouched and unfamiliar territory, she tenuously moves forward over the rocky soil. Hesitant and afraid, she pauses in her journey, then twirls in panic to the cacophonous music that comes from all surrounding fields, soothing and aggravating, reassuring and upsetting."
We all have experienced restlessness and confusion. "The thoughts come...if only I had known the pain. If only I had stayed in the gutter. If only the fear would dissolve. If only it was easier. If only there were no demons to torment." But always there are. And Dr. Jones clearly points to the path of transformation which carries each of us into our depths. By following that path Dr. Jones shows us how we discover our magic deep inside ourselves.
I have seldom read a more empowering text. The fables teach and guide us without being pedantic or simplistic. Dr. Jones uses the Hero myth to illumine our own particular path. Every reader will gain insight into her soul. We learn that each of us finds "spiritual strength from the Path that guides (us) eastward, for (we) would be Priestess, Holy Woman, Healer." And when we do honor our own steps Dr. Jones shows us that the wisdom of the Universal forces "teach, illuminate, protect, and challenge. They travel above, below and within. They hover before and behind. They support on her right and her left. She listens and receives, reflects and connects. All creation is her ally."
Feral Fables moves us to our core and insists that we live from there with integrity. Each fable suggests a slightly different perspective on living from our uniqueness. Feral Fables supports and guides us. We can use it every day for clarity in whatever situation we find ourselves. Truly, Feral Fables adds mightily and beautifully to time-tested Wisdom truths.
