The book of Ruth has been called one of the finest literary works in all of the world’s writings. It was penned by an unknown author over 3000 years ago and yet its great message stands the test of time. It is a story of death, emptiness and great sorrow that turns to life, love and redemption. The providence of God is shown clearly throughout the story as the divine plan of salvation weaves its way among the various characters.
The Redemption of Ruth was born out of a daily email Bible study that was initially sent to a few close friends and then grew to a worldwide group of readers. This study is not intended to be a deep theological commentary on the story but a warm, engaging devotional read that is broken up in small chapters. While the Bible is filled with great theological concepts and important truths, the message of redemption runs clearly and simply from beginning to end with examples of the deep love that the Father has for His children.
