Once upon a time, four very good friends sailed their boat out on the ocean to go fishing. Their names were Ambition, Doubt, Fear, and Failure.
Upoon reaching the middle of the ocean, a squall came up and they lost their sails, motor, oars and all their fishing equipment.
Doubt, Fear, and Failure did nothing except complain, blame Ambition, and predict their demise. But, Ambition instinctively knew their had to be a way to survive. He found an open safety pin on the bottom of the boat and tied it to a piece of string he found and threw it overboard. suddenly he felt a tug on the string. He pulled up the string and to everyone's amazement he found an ancient oil lamp attached to the end.
Ambition started wiping the lamp when, to his surprise, a genie appeared.
"Thank you! Thank you!" the genie bellowed, "and for freeing me from that watery prison, I shall grant each of you one wish."
Doubt spoke out, "I doubted the wisdom of this trip from the beginning. I wish I was back in the warm security of my home. Whoosh, the wish was granted.
Then the genie turned to Failure who said, "I knew from the start we would fail! Just return me to my home and I will never go fishing again. Whoosh, his wish was granted.
Finally, the genie turned to Ambition and asked him his wish. Ambaition looked around and said, "I am so lonely, I wish I could be with my friends. WHOOSH!
If there is one lesson you should learn in life, it is to NEVER invite Doubt, Fear, and Failure into your boat!
