he puts inside. When he wants a ball glove like his friend Jake's, he puts
in the glove, and Zap--a duplicate for himself. If Randy and Jake want
pizza, he orders one, makes a copy, and they eat two. Randy copies homework,
games, and even Asthma, Jake's furry mutt. Everything is going great until
his little sister wants a playmate. Twozy, as Suzy names her "twin," looks
and whines just like Suzy. Mom and Dad are mad at Randy for doubling their
trouble, and he has to baby-sit more girls more often. Two sisters are
twice as bad! How can he get rid of the new one?
Excerpt
Suzy nodded again and moved closer as Randy opened the box. When he laid the doll inside, she clutched his leg. "Where dolly go?"
"She's okay. She's inside the Ditto Box."
"What a Diddo Box is?"
"Ditto. The word 'ditto' means the same thing. The Ditto Box is going to make another doll the same as Meggie. Watch what I do here. She's in the box. Now I'll shut the lid and push this button."
Suzy stood on tiptoes. Jake stepped closer to watch. Randy smiled. It was fun to fascinate an audience with his inventions.
The box hummed. The rainbow light shone through the box lid.
Suzy clapped her hands. "Pretty lights and music."
Ditto. A doll shot out and landed at Suzy's feet.

As with the first in the series, Double Trouble Ditto Box is made up of eleven fast paced chapters sure to captivate kids of the target age. Boys and girls alike will find much to enjoy in the story of a clever boy and his determination to beat the odds and find the easy way to take care of homework, baby sitting and other responsibility facing him.
