There are further complications because not only has she dealt with a similar situation before, she has visions about the serial killer. This fact draws her further into that dark world. Will she find a way out or will she have to allow herself to trust a man, despite her hang-ups from the past?

The visions built up around her; she completely lost all track of time. She could see him rushing toward Joanna with the sharp blade of his knife. Sue was screaming and struggling against the chains that bound her. Fear had taken over her logical state. She remembered screaming at him after he was finished with her, but the words did not come out. He turned to her, smiling an evil smile, almost as if it derived from the devil himself. He seemed to mock her current state, as defenseless as she was.
She felt as if her voice had been completely separated from her body, as if he'd cut out her voice box. She couldn't scream when he approached her. She couldn't cry for all the terror she'd been through. He reached for her, grasping the back of her neck and pulling her towards him. He tasted her skin, commenting on what meant nothing to her.
