It was the last day of summer before school started. Hailey and her best friend Jared wanted it to be a day to be remembered but when they went on their new adventure to Old Jacob's mine it ended up being a day they would want to forget!
Even though Hailey is a girl, you'd have to call her a tomboy as she loves adventures with her best friend Jared and has no problem getting in and out of spooky situations! She, Jared and her beloved bike Blue manage to keep their lives pretty exciting and sometimes they are not sure whether it's ghosts or just their imagination. You'll just have to decide which one it ends up being!

This is a keeper!
I read this story to my boys, ten and seven, and they loved it. It is such a great, well written story, and perfect for the young ones (and young at heart). I highly recommend this book, and it's best served on a cool night with your favorite young one, wrapped in a warm blanket together. Well done!
Huck We Come
If you're read and enjoyed the old Huck Finn stories, this one will remind you of those.
Hailey and Jared are typical small town boys, looking for enough trouble to be interesting, but not so much that they get into any real danger.
In my opinion, this tale should have been Genre'd as Young Adult.
Is the word wholesome out of style?
So nice to read something that was well written, interesting, had a good story line and was entertaining... without being gory or gothic or gruesome (lots of G's there...). Or profane. Thank you Bon Rose! Held my interest - wasn't predictable - and I found myself thinking of the stories that I grew up reading and loving, and reading again. This is what kids should be reading when we can get them away from the bad stuff. Wholesome but not boring or sugary - not easy to walk that line. I'll be reading more from this author, and recommending these stories to my family.
