Excerpt
Slipping on some comfortable sweats and flip flops, Jack ambled out to the backyard. It was the kind of yard the average joe had, that lived outside of Chicago. A medium sized lot with patio, grass, and trees, surrounded by a cedar fence. Well that and one other thing.
Looking at the back of the property, Jack saw a wooden box. In that box was his “lucky charm”, and because of it he had made millions, heck soon to be billions.
He walked towards the box, and as he got closer he could hear the rustling coming from inside. Bending down and peering in, he saw two bright eyes looking back at him. The eyes seemed to lock with his. Jack shook his head and laughed, must be the Sake Bomb.

Don't push your luck!
I loved this story! Being a fan of horror, I enjoyed the sick twist of this one. I actually owned a lucky rabbits foot when I was a kid, and this brought back memories. Thank goodness I wasn't that lucky back then, because my luck could have run out. I would love to see this story on film, it would be perfect for the big screen! Well done!!

Like short stories? Then you're in for a treat. Bon Rose's, "The Rabbits Foot" will keep you cringing until the very end. If this was a movie, I guarantee that you'd be covering your eyes.
Wascally Wabbit
Having just read this with the whole thing fresh in my mind, the first thing i had thought of was that we are being strung along. you don't realize the horror in this until the end. it is a great formula this writer has in a few stories i have read now.
this reads at first like the kind of story where you are thinking the guy has come across good fortune and he is basically a normal guy who stumbled on good luck. then you realize there is a darker side and then, well i wont spoil the ending.
the point is that you feel like it may go in more than one direction, if you have read any of her other stories - and i recommend you do.
the second point is that it is a great talent that some writers have- to take something innocuous....totally innocent and subvert the hell out of it. how many horror movies have we seen for example with the horror object being birds or slugs; well now there's one with a cute fwuffy bunny wabbit. this is that very same rabbit that the kids have been asking for and that same rabbit most of us had when we were growing up, think about that. please stop and read, you will see what i mean
