CHAPTER 1
Ma Chipmunk had tears in her eyes. “It’s Cheeco. His cough is so bad!”
Pibbin hopped closer to the little chipmunk. Sleeping? Not frisking around? Not getting into trouble? The kid must be really sick.
“Please?” Ma Chipmunk said. “Please ask Sheera what I should give him?”
“I’ve been trying to find her,” Pibbin said. His friend would know the best thing for a cough, but where had that turtle gone?
He hopped down to Friendship Bog.
Sheera wouldn’t be sitting on the lily pads—she was too big. She liked to nap by the water or catch spiders in the bushes. Sometimes she sat on Woodpecker Log to enjoy the sun.
Not there. Not anywhere.
What about Sheera’s home pool? It was close by, a handy place for visitors. Everyone came to ask her advice when they were sick.
No, not there either. Maybe she’d gone into the pine woods to dig for beetles.
He hopped across the pine needles and over the sandy ground, but he couldn’t find even a claw mark.
She had to be here, somewhere! He climbed onto a log to look around.
Ahead of him was Rumble Road.
He didn’t like to go anywhere near the road, but Carpenter Frog stood there, and so did Gaffer the Gray Treefrog.
A squirrel stood there too, and three mice, and a rabbit with her children.
What had happened? Better find out.
He jumped down from the log, and Gaffer came to meet him. “Just a minute, Pib,” he said. “I have some bad news.”
The old treefrog’s face wrinkled up, as if he were sad. “It’s Sheera.”
“What? What about her?”
“I’m sorry, Pib.”

Wonderful Children's book
Pibbin the treefrog's adventures are exciting for a child as he travels through Bullfrog Bog to find Sweetberry leaves to help heal his hurt friend. The descriptions are picturesque and will capture a 4-7 years old's imagination. But they are realistic too giving an appropriate idea of boggs and the area. There is even a hint of mystery as everyone wondered who picked the large leaves Pibbin needs. The book is charming with a message--a friend will do whatever is necessary to help a friend in need. Pibbin was a true friend. The illustrations are beautiful and the color pictures a lesson in themselves. Excellent chidren's book.
Not Such a Small Story for Kids
This delightful children's book is filled with beautiful illustrations by Tim Davis and photographs by Bill Beck. Any adult who wants to capture a child's interest (while maintaining their own) should get a copy of this book and read it often. I started wishing I had a Kindle Fire so I could enjoy the pictures more, but they were adorable even in shades of gray.
The story follows a tiny green tree frog named Pibbin on a quest with his larger friend Leeper to find Sweetberry leaves. Evidently these special leaves disappeared around their bog and are needed to heal their friend Sheera (a turtle) who got hit crossing the road. There are dangerous creatures to avoid and a mystery to solve along the journey. Gloria Repp uses language that a young child can understand with enough expertise to keep an adult's mind from wandering. The story has good advice and tells young readers they're not too small to complete an important task. It's a clever story with fantastic illustrations.
Pibbin Is a NEW BEST FRIEND!
This sweet little frog takes us on a journey. His friend, Sheera, the turtle, was hit by a truck while crossing a dirt road. Pibbin, a small frog seeks a friend to take a journey with him from Friendship Bog to Wild Bog! Can you imagine? Being a little frog going from one place...with such a nice name to another with a name...that well, brings frightening thoughts to mind?
He makes the trip...it challenges his heart, his spirit and his courage. He seeks out a Dr....who is a chipmunk...who can help heal his friend. However, the Dr's supplies have been taken...by a greedy character...and Pibbin's courage is shown in ways that will make you laugh and cry!
All of my children enjoyed this story. We sat and read it together, as our read aloud. When I received the book I was afraid my older children would not be interested in it....but they were. They begged me to read and read....and I finished reading the book to my little guy in the ER one night. My older children were not too terribly happy to hear we had finished it without them...so, we all sat down and finished together.
This book...will forever be cherished in our home...It has captured my little boy's imagination and has spurred him on...in his desire to learn to read.
Here are my top ten reasons for my praises of Pibbin:

3. Doing the right thing....is not always the easy thing
4. The pictures are really cute

6. The ending was GREAT, but the children were sad to see the story was over.
7. It reminded my children that little people can do big things too...(yes, like in the veggie tales)
8. I felt comfortable reading this entire book....no mention of anything I would not want my children to read alone!
9. This sweet book helped us with our nature studies on frogs and lizards!
10. Pibbin encouraged my little boy to pick up any book and start identifying the words he knows...not worry about the ones he doesn't (YET)
Children love to sink their teeth into sweet and delicious fruit. This story and teaching will have them sinking their hearts into the Fruit of the Spirit.
