I lay my head on the kitchen table, feeling exhausted and disheartened. I think to myself, how much longer will I have to endure this situation? I do not want to be here!
Lifting my head slowly, fighting a splitting headache, I look at the nurse, feeling like I am carrying a hundred pound weight on my back.
“Please tell her I will be right up. Is she in a better frame of mind this morning?” I ask, not expecting to hear any change.
Linda feels badly for me, you can see it in her face, she knows if I receive any more bad news, I may lose it, pushing me over the edge. Linda will make the tenth nurse within a three-month period, but has managed to endure Benita’s verbal abuse for a whole month. This is truly remarkable, as Benita’s vile and explosive temper is hard to endure, even for a stranger.
