I admit to not being the biggest lover of high fantasy (mainly due to personal preference), but this book honestly surprised me in a good way. In addition to having one of the best opening fake-outs I've ever read, the book's small size and format gives me a very nostalgic feeling for those kids novellas I used to read when I was younger. Overall I found it highly entertaining. Now to get my hands on the sequel...
