Her mother's friend stops by one day to tell Callie about a letter that Callie's mother requested she mail after she died, a letter that would change Callie's life. Callie's mother had always told her that her father died when she was young, only now Callie finds out that her father is still alive. Not only is he still alive, he is a Senator, and he is running for President. Callie is completely flabbergasted by the news, and just wants time to process everything and deal with her emotions. In the meantime, the Senator has received his letter and is ready to meet his daughter. Warren Sherbrooke's wife and campaign manager want him to take things a little more slowly, and his wife has her son, Warren's stepson, Dylan Talbot over to try and talk some sense into the Warren. After much discussion, Senator Sherbrooke agrees to let Dylan meet Callie first, then set up a meeting.

When Callie hears a knock on the door, the last person she expects to see when she opens is Dylan Talbot, who she recognizes from magazines, and who she also knows is Warren Sherbrooke's stepson. Hesitantly, she invites him in. Dylan explains his reason for being there and tries to set up a meeting for Callie and the Senator, but Callie bluntly tells him she is not interested at this time. Dylan is surprised by Callie's answer, and is even more surprised by how attractive he finds her. After several attempts, she agrees to a meeting. Little did she know that in the process of getting to know her father, she would fall in love with Dylan Talbot. Dylan tries to deny his feelings for Callie, but he just can't stay away from her. She is unlike any woman he has ever known. Things couldn't be going any better for them until Callie finds out about a secret, a secret that breaks her heart and drives her away from Dylan. In the meantime, Warren Sherbrooke has announced to the world that he has a daughter and now the press are having a heyday with the story and Callie has no privacy. Can she survive her broken heart and her new found yet unwanted fame? Will Dylan realize that he loves Callie, and if he does, can he win her back?

This is a charming contemporary romance. I loved Callie's character. She was very real and believable. Dylan Talbot was absolutely dreamy and swoon worthy, and the chemistry between him and Callie is undeniable. I enjoyed watching the story unfold and really enjoyed getting to know the characters. This was a delightful romance with a real life Cinderella feel to it that I found to be delightful. If you are fan of contemporary romance, then you will enjoy this lighthearted and entertaining story.

An interesting read, I wasn't sure how I was going to react to the book. The characters are so vivid you feel like you know them and are there with them every step of the way. Dylan is to watch Callie. The more time they spend together the more Callie falls for Dylan. Callie learns a secret when he mother passes. Her father is alive and she wants to find him.
The author did a wonderful job with down to earth keeping things real. A page turner you can easily read in a day if not two. You want to know what happens with Callie and Dylan. They are easy to relate to. A fun read.
